About Me

My photo
I am a momma of 6 :) I have one grand-daughter who is 2 and a half and one who is 9 months!!...my youngest son is 6 months younger than the older one and 1 year older than the baby :) We homeschool and we are always on the go! I like to joke and say we are "addicted to chaos"! Long story short - we are parents of kiddos every age imaginable (almost) and like everyone else...We're learning as we go along! Thank the Lord...He's forgiving and LOVING - 'cause we're truly undeserving of all the wonderful gifts He's given to us!

Parable of the talents

Our family has been thinking and praying and talking a LOT lately about the parable of the talents.
I have always believed with all my heart that the "talents" that were referred to in this story was not only the name of the currency - but also literally directing us to use our "God given talents" wisely & responsibly but to USE them!!!!

So....here's my question to you.
What are your talents?
If you were given $500 and told that you had 6 months to double that amount - but you MUST use your talents....what would you do?

I can't wait to see your replies....

With all my heart!~
Michelle

  1. Wow, Michelle ~ that's a tall order that would have to be God-blessed!
Of the things that come to mind, a market garden to sell at Farmer's Markets along with baked goods would be the only way I might hope to earn a profit of $1000! Or maybe a 1yo steer who only needs six months of fattening, except it would likely take more than $500 to buy him. =) I don't think I could make enough flannel blankets or SELL them. It's all I can do to keep up with giving them away.

A friend invested less than $500 to sell dipped chocolates before Christmas each year. I think she has at least 100% return ~ more now that she's 'established.' But she's also in a neighborhood/city where her customers will come to her.

I'd best move on and use my talents TODAY! =)

  3. In my dream world, I'd write a book that touched lives & hearts and I'd sell it - and then my book would make a profit plus I'd have touched hearts ... or I'd find my niche in my blog - and I could sit at home and write & advertisers and sponsors and companies would pay ME to do what I love to just do: write my blog ... But that's a dream. In reality, I really have NO CLUE what I could do :( I'm supposed to be finishing up a Medical Transcription course - so I guess I could (and should!) do that & make some money.
This sleep-deprived momma is having a hard time wrapping my head around this one!! :)

  5. Well I'll confess - I'm not sure where I'm headed with this...but at my hubbys insistance - I am going to contact a voice coach and look into getting together a demo cd.
(is that elephant sized butterflies in my stomach? YES IT IS)
Wish me luck - keep me in your prayers! YIKES
